The BSC (British Society of Cinematographers) Expo had a wealth of innovations and engaging presentations which were enjoyed by the 4051 visitors to the BSC Expo two day show. The Optical Support team were there along with Flowcine and Inovativ to showcase their latest product additions.
We were met with attendance of really high quality film personnel and visited by a broad range of industry professionals and those who are newer to the industry.
It was at the BSC Expo that we unveiled our new Jackal Rickshaw which created a lot of interest and excitement! We were exhibiting with our friends from Flowcine who featured their black and dual arm.

BVE lists itself as the UK’s leading Entertainment and Media Tech event, with a 20-year history dedicated to the broadcast, production and post-production sectors. We at Optical Support were excited to be there and join the buzz.
In recent years, the show has evolved into an all-encompassing event that now covers, not only our Steadicam equipment from Optical Support, but you could also find more Connected Media, AV Systems Integration, Live Production, VR and creative sectors which complement Optical Supports products.
This year, BVE attracted more than 15,000 visitors, who attended to discover and learn about the latest products, services and trends from more than 300 leading manufacturers and distributors, including us at Optical Support of course.
Round-up of both events attended
Speaking with Chris Edwards, of Optical Support, he commented “We created the Jackal Rickshaw as a tracking vehicle for gimbal operators hand-held use and Steadicam. This has evolved and been developed from our Mantis, the industry standard camera rickshaw. It’s main difference being it’s light-weight, easy to set-up and pack-down. We showcased these at both events and both were well received.
We also showcased our Shotframe, which is a camera mount system which utilises the Betz Wave 1 and Flowcine Serene, all mounted on an Easy Rig. It has a square frame which tilts in the middle and can be adjusted and balanced to suit the camera load and uses the Wave to provide a rock-solid horizon.”Back to the blog
